HERMITAGE – A Hermitage man was arrested on drunken driving charges after a pickup truck he was driving hit a mother and child who were walking along Meadowbrook Drive in Hermitage, police said.
Edmond Joseph Flocco II, 37, was charged with aggravated assault by vehicle while driving under the influence and driving under the influence after the incident reported at 8:12 p.m. Friday. Police said his truck hit two in the 100 block of Meadowbrook Drive, police said.
The woman, 36, and boy, 4, both Hermitage, were taken to an area trauma center for treatment, police said.
Flocco, who said he never saw the pedestrians, was video-arraigned by District Judge Mary Odem on Saturday and taken to Mercer County Jail after failing to post bond.
A preliminary hearing is set for Sept. 28 before Odem.
