HUBBARD, Ohio — A Catholic church in Hubbard was the scene of a structure fire Monday evening.

First responders were alerted to smoke coming out the back of St. Patrick’s Church, 357 N. Main St., at about 5:45 p.m. Monday. Responders included the Hubbard Eagle Joint Fire District, along with the Liberty, Canfield, Coitsville, and Brookfield fire departments, according to the Trumbull County 911 call sheet.

Electricity and gas utilities were cut to the church during the fire, while EMTs were also dispatched to the scene. First responders began clearing the scene around 8:38 p.m. and the state fire marshal was contacted, the call sheet states.

Additional information from the Hubbard Eagle Joint Fire District was not available as of Monday evening.
