Here are some of the businesses and services affected by the Thanksgiving holiday:

• The Herald will publish as usual Thursday morning. The office on Dock Street in Sharon will close at 5 p.m. today and remain closed until 8 a.m. Monday. The newsroom can be reached by phone after 4 p.m. daily at 724-981-6100.

• Federal, state and local government offices will be closed Thursday, except for emergency services such as police, fire and 911. The Mercer County Courthouse will also be closed Friday and will reopen Monday morning.

• There will be no mail delivery Thursday.

• Most banks and financial institutions will be closed Thursday, depending on their normal operating hours.

• Mercer County Area on Aging's office in Mercer and its senior community centers in Greenville, Grove City, Hermitage and Sandy Lake will be closed Thursday.

• PennDOT driver license and photo centers will be closed Thursday. Driver and vehicle services are available online at: www.dmv.state.pa.us

• Mercer County Historical Society will be closed Thursday through Monday. It will reopen at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Info: 724-662-3490.
