Funeral will be Tuesday for Jose de Jesus Hernandez Rodriguez, Hermitage, formerly of Ayotlán, Jalisco, Mexico, who went to be with the Lord at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2014, in St. Elizabeth Health Center, Youngstown. He was 38.
Jesus was born Nov. 1, 1976, one of five children of Ruben Hernandez Ayala and M. Lourdes Rodriguez Segoviano, in the town of Ayotlán, Jalisco, central-western Mexico.
He received his formal education while stuyding at Morelos, a school in Ayotlán, Jalisco. He immigrated to the United States in 1996 and permanently moved to the U.S. in 1999 to follow his dream of owning his own business.
Jesus owned and operated the popular La Isla Mexican Restaurant in Hermitage. He also was the former co-owner of El Tarasco Mexican Restaurant, Galion, Ohio.
He was a devoted Catholic and a member of St. Joseph Church, Sharon.
To say Jesus was loved by many would be an understatement. His smile was infectious; his generosity had no boundaries. He will always be remembered for his gentle way and loving spirit. He was known throughout the community as a philanthropist and businessman who donated not only his time, but his financial assistance when needed; his generosity benefited many in our community. His greatest joy was found while spending time with his niece and nephews, whom he loved dearly.
Surviving are: his parents, Ruben Hernandez Ayala and M. Lourdes Rodriguez Segoviano, both of Ayotlán; his sister, Maria de Lourdes Hernandez Rodriguez; three brothers, Ruben Hernandez Rodriguez and his wife, Olga, Storm Lake, Iowa; Benjamin Hernandez Rodriguez and his wife, Sylvia Teresa Soto Arambula, Guadalajara, Mexico; and Lazaro Hernandez Rodriguez and his wife, Mindy Matejka Hernandez, Sharon; four nephews, Maximo Hernandez, Deryk Hernandez, Damian Hernandez, and Nathan Perez; and his niece, Alyson Hernandez. He also is survived by several godchildren, cousins, aunts, and uncles in the United States and Mexico, whom he loved dearly.

Services: Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at noon Tuesday (12-9-14) in St. Joseph Church, 79 Case Ave., Sharon, with the Rev. Daniel J. Kresinski and the Rev. Thomas J. Whitman, concelebrating. A brief prayer service will begin in the funeral home at 11:15 a.m. prior to leaving for the church.
