SHARON – Police are looking for a Youngstown man accused of providing illegal drugs to a woman and raping her while she was dying of an overdose.

Leonardo Trenton Smith, 32, was charged with drug delivery resulting in death and rape of an unconscious victim for his alleged involvement in the case. District Judge Dennis Songer issued a warrant Friday for Smith's arrest.

Sharon police said in a criminal complaint they were dispatched April 8 to 170 West Budd St., Apartment A101, for a report of a unconscious woman. When officers arrived, they found Mariah Cherise Brown dead on the living room floor.

Police said they learned that Smith was with the victim just before or at the time of her death.

Smith is accused of having sex with the victim while she was high and in and out of consciousness. Police said they found a text message exchange where the victim asked Smith if he had drugs and he said he did.

Police said they believe Smith provided the drugs and knew the victim was overdosing but failed to call 911 for help.

A toxicology report indicated that the victim's death was caused by an overdose of fentanyl.
