A Cleveland man police say fled the scene of a Saturday morning crash that claimed the life of a Farrell motorcyclist is facing charges.

Mohammad Mohammad, 35, was charged by Southwest Mercer County Regional Police with leaving the scene of an accident involving death or personal injury.

Police said Mohammad was driving a van that collided with a motorcycle driven by William Edward Schell III, 19, of 2012 Landay Lane, Farrell. Schell died after the crash at about 11:40 a.m. at Mercer-West Middlesex Road and state Route 60, police said.

Police on Saturday said a third vehicle was involved in the crash, but information on that vehicle or its driver has yet to be released.

Mohammad continued driving after the crash and was picked up by police at the 3-mile marker on Interstate 80 heading west, police said. He was also charged with a traffic violation and with being part of an accident involving damage to property.

A preliminary hearing is set for Friday in Farrell before District Judge William L. Fagley, who will be filling in for District Judge Ronald E. Antos.
