Although she is still a couple weeks shy of being sworn in, state Rep.-elect Michele Brooks isn’t wasting any time getting herself ready to hit the ground running in Harrisburg in January.

Mrs. Brooks, of Jamestown, R-17th District, announced in a news release Wednesday that her district offices in Mercer, Crawford and Lawrence counties are open to constituents.

The main office at 3 Greenville Plaza West in Hempfield Township will be open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Phone numbers are 724-588-8911 or 800-457-2040. Fax number is 724-588-5464.

The Meadville office is at 16678 McMath Ave. and is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Phone number is 814-337-8132 and fax number is 814-337-5055.

An office at the New Wilmington borough building, 134 High St., is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays and can be reached by calling 724-946-8167. An office at the Sandy Lake borough building, 3271 S. Main St., is open from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Thursdays and can be reached by calling 724-376-7465.

Among the services and forms available are: certified copies of birth and death certificates; absentee ballots and voter registration forms; copies of House and Senate bills and state laws; arranging group tours of the state Capitol; status reports on legislation; state income tax forms; PACE and PACENET applications; PennDOT paperwork; and applications for the property tax/rent rebate program.

Mrs. Brooks defeated Lawrence County Democrat Frank Weaver last month to win the seat being vacated by five-term Republican incumbent Rod E. Wilt of Sugar Grove Township.
