Man gets 7 months in jail for store burglary

HERMITAGE — A Sharon man who admitted breaking into the Eckerd Drug Store in Hermitage will spend at least 7 months in Mercer County Jail.

Tristone W. Keith, 38, of 184 S. Oakland Ave., was sentenced Friday to 7 months to 2 years, less 1 day, by Mercer County Common Pleas Judge Francis J. Fornelli.

Keith pleaded guilty last month to a charge of burglary.

He threw a rock through the front window of the store, at 1851 E. State St., at 6:24 a.m. May 11, police said, and stole compact disc players and headphone sets.

A little later, Keith was seen at South Buhl Farm Drive and the Shenango Valley Freeway trying to flag down motorists for a ride, police said. He was holding a garbage bag containing the stolen merchandise and an Eckerd carrying basket, police said. He also had cuts on his hands, police said.

Surveillance tapes showed Keith breaking into the store, police said.
