Bridge opens, completed on time, within budget

BROOKFIELD — The freshly-built Brookfield No. 3 Bridge spans Little Yankee Run on Stewart Sharon Road between state Route 7 and Warner Road and it will be open for traffic on Thursday, a press release reported.

The two-lane 63-foot bridge replaces the older single-lane 45-foot bridge that was built in 1951, the release said.

The project began on Sept. 5 and was completed on time and within the $370,156 budget allotted to Nasco Construction, Inc., the release said. Those funds were 95 percent federal and 5 percent local.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, the release said.
