MERCER – A Mercer County judge on Tuesday ordered the dismissal of assault charges filed against a Farrell man after prosecutors announced that the victims would not cooperate.

Blaine Wilder, 58, of 1319 Union St., Farrell, no longer faces charges of aggravated, simple and indecent assault and unlawful restraint.

Southwest Mercer County Regional police filed charges stemming from a report Nov. 1, 2013, that Wilder had forced a woman to perform a sex act on him when she visited him.

She fled the home naked, but returned later to retrieve her clothes, police said.

The woman said Wilder refused to let her leave and beat her, police said.

Wilder spent not quite three weeks in jail after the charges were filed.
