Authorities, including the U.S. Marshal Service, have apprehended the suspect in a shooting Jan. 27 in Sharon.
Travaris K. Dorsey, 30, of Sharon and New Castle, had been at large since the shooting. Police said he shot a woman at a residence in the 700 block of Stambaugh Avenue.
Dorsey was taken into custody Friday in North Carolina, Sharon police said Tuesday. He is charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, robbery, robbery of a motor vehicle, theft and illegal possession of a firearm.
Dorsey accused of shooting the woman shortly after 8:30 a.m. Jan. 27 at the residence. Police said they believe the two were in a romantic relationship and were arguing when Dorsey shot her three times in the torso.
The woman was taken to a hospital and was reported to be in stable condition the day of the shooting. Police did not have an update on her condition Tuesday.
Police said Dorsey waived his right to an extradition hearing, clearing the way for the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department to arrange his transportation back for trial.
Until that happens, Dorsey is being held at the Rowan County Detention Center, in central North Carolina.
