Orthodox food festival big success thanks to all

The Orthodox Food Festival Committee is pleased to announce that our seventh-annual Orthodox Food Festival held Sept 21 and 22 was a great success.

We thank Holy Cross Orthodox Church for hosting the event on their church grounds and in their social hall. We especially want to thank all the volunteers from Holy Cross Orthodox Romanian, Holy Annunciation Greek Orthodox and St John’s Ukrainian churches. Their hard work enabled the churches to offer a wide selection of home made ethnic foods – many grilled daily on the church grounds. The food was delicious, and all the food was sold.

Of course the food festival would not have been a success without the huge turn out from the public. Thanks to all who attended. The committee especially thanks Mike Erme for donating signs, Rental Corral for help furnishing tents, The Herald for publishing information about our food festival, the sponsors and patrons who contributed to our ad book, Staples Printing for its help preparing and printing our ad book, and the many student volunteers from Kennedy Catholic. We know their combined efforts helped bring out the crowd and made the event a success.

Next year’s eighth-annual nnual Orthodox Food Festival is already being planned. Like this year it will be held at Holy Cross Orthodox Church at 950 Maple Drive, Hermitage. Look for news about next year’s festival in The Herald, as well as watch for our flyers and signs. Be sure to like us on Facebook and Instagram.

Thank you again, and see you next year
