WARREN, Ohio — Raymond L. Bentley of Niles, Ohio, formerly of Hermitage, died at 3:27 p.m. Saturday (3-11-06) in Forum – Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren. He was 69.

Mr. Bentley was born Oct. 14, 1936, in Sharon, a son of Fred and Nell McKay Bentley.

Ray was a 1955 graduate of Sharpsville High School. He was raised in Sharpsville and lived in Hermitage for many years.

He served in the Army and retired from the former Sharon Steel Corp.’s Farrell plant, where he worked for 38 years.

Ray had been a member of St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Church in Hermitage. He enjoyed bowling and bowled in leagues. He enjoyed horses and horseback riding and loved animals.

Surviving are: two sisters, Rose Heeter, Erie; and Helen Hathaway, Niles; and a great-nephew, Corey Hathaway, Cortland.

Ray was preceded in death by a nephew, Rick Hathaway; two sisters, Marge Howard and Dorothy Pavlick; and a brother, John Brandt.
