Coach Shawn Hammond’s Brookfield High boys basketball team beat Southeast, 67-43, on the road in Ravenna Friday night as both teams tipped off the 2018-19 season.

The Warriors trailed 14-9 at the end of the 1st quarter, but outscored the Pirates 8-0 in the 2nd frame to take a 17-14 lead at halftime. Brookfield outscored Southeast 50-29 in the 2nd half.

Haden Gibson rifled in 24 points to lead Brookfield, Conner Stevens drained 3 treys en route to 17 points and Brady Reichart added 15. Gage Emery had 11 rebounds and Reichart grabbed 9 boards.

Nate Kurtz led Southeast with 12 points and Conner Muldowney bucketed 10.

Brookfield returns to action on Tuesday night when it hosts Garrettsville-Garfield.
