Saturday’s District 10 Cross Country Championships were a stroll in the park for Mercer County’s contingent, specifically Hickory High’s Morgan Richards and Grove City’s Jake Kildoo.
Well, then again, maybe not.
“ ... It’s not like a run in the park ...” Hickory assistant coach Mark Slezak said.
Richards raced to her initial individual D-10 title with a 19:26 clocking in covering Buhl Farm Park’s 3.1-mile course, while Kildoo completed a 3-peat as the senior secured a sizzling 16:47 effort.
While Kildoo captured his crown, coach Mike Sample’s Eagles eased to the AAA team title, 38-49 over Cathedral Prep. The Grovers garnered their 2nd district championship in the last 3 seasons.
