Hornets net win

Grove City High boys cross country team won its 2 most recent invitational appearances and earned a 10th-place ranking in the state in Class AAA.

The Eagles took 5 of the top 6 berths at their own invite to easily outdistance Plum, 15-46. Jake Kildoo finished 1st in a time of 15:51, 67 seconds ahead of teammate Ben Hoffman. Daniel Jaskowak, Jordan Powell and Ryan Whiteman also placed 3-4-6.

In key fall sports action Wednesday, Hickory boys soccer team edged Commodore Perry, 1-0, in overtime on a Kevin Hodgkins goal, assisted by Phillip Tantuo.
