The District 10 Dual Meet Championships pairings have been announced by D-10 wrestling chairman Jack McIntire.

The Class AAA tournament will be held Tuesday and AA Thursday at Edinboro State University. Semifinal times are 5 p.m. with finals at 7.

The AAA semifinal pairings are: No. 1 seed Cathedral Prep vs. No. 4 Gen. McLane; No. 2 Corry vs. No. 3 Meadville.

The AA pairings show: No. 1 Reynolds vs. No. 4 Saegertown; No. 2 Fort LeBoeuf vs. No. 3 Commodore Perry.

Reynolds was in action Thurday night, defeating Sharon, 62-7. Following are the results of all local high school sports reported to The Herald:

WRESTLING

ä Reynolds 62, Sharon 7 — At Sharon, the Raiders of Coach Brian Hills finished the regular season unbeaten with a perfect 17-0 record.

In the highlight match of the night, Reynolds’ Tony D’Urso upset defending state champ Jordan Moss at 135 by a score of 2-1 in the overtime second sudden-victory period. After the regulation match was tied at 1-1, D’Urso rode out Moss in the first SV period, then escaped for the win in the 2nd.

“It was a great match between two great wrestlers,” said Hills. “People from Reynolds have nothing but great respect for Jordon Moss. These two have wrestled plenty of times before and they’ll probably wrestle plenty of times in the future.

Scoring falls for Reynolds were Mason Beckman (119), Adam Matthews (125), Cody Kelly (130), Sam Fuchs (140), Luke Taylor (145), Kaine Kulka (152). Will Ringer (285) notched a tech fall.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

ä Kennedy Catholic 51, Jamestown 41 — At Jamestown, the visiting Lady Golden Eagles edged the Lady Muskies in the Region 1-A affair. KC claimed a 19-14 first-quarter lead it never relinquished.

Caitlin Lenhart’s 19-point, 10-rebound double-double, Cassie Fill’s career-high 18-point performance, and Marina Wareham’s 10 tallies, including two treys, keyed Kennedy (5-0, 11-3).

For Jamestown (3-2, 9-7), Emily Mrvos mustered 16 markers and Britta Grafton garnered another 13, also connecting twice from beyond the arc.

ä Reynolds 42, Mercer 35 — At Mercer, the visiting Lady Raiders (7-0, 15-0) remained undefeated by recording the Region 2-AA road win.

Reynolds roared to a 30-18 through 3 periods, then weathered the Lady M’s 17-point 4th-quarter rally.

Chelsea D’Urso delivered a game-high 22 points for Reynolds, which converted 12 of 18 free-throw tries, led by Jolene Parker’s 7-for-8 performance for coach Bob Chamberlain.

For Mercer mentor Joe Montone, Claire Creasy collected a career-high 24 points, including a handful of triples, but she was the lone double-figure scorer for the Lady M’s (4-3, 9-6), who had two starters failed to dent the scoring column.

ä Greenville 54, West Middlesex 46 — At Greenville, the host Lady Trojans triumphed by outscoring Middlesex 37-32 after intermission.

The charity stripe also proved pivotal in the Region 2-AA outing, as Greenville got 12-for-18 shooting (66.7), compared with the Ms. Reds’ 6-for-12 performance.

Larae Tymochko tallied 20 for the Lady Trojans (5-2, 10-5), while Hannah Horne had another 11.

For West Middlesex (2-5 7-8), frosh Deann Ryan rifled in 17 points, while Jessica Bittler bucketed 10.

ä Oil City 55, Sharon 39 — At Oil City, the Lady Oilers overwhelmed a sluggish Sharon squad.

“We played wth no excitement,” lamented Lady Tigers’ taskmaster Gene Sarazen.

At the outset Oil City outscored Sharon 10-3, then extended its edge to 28-17 by the break and 36-29 through 3 periods.

Becca Weigle went for a game-high 18 points for Oil City (3-5 in Region 5-AAA), while Mya Hidinger had a 13-for-14 free-throw shooting performance en route to another 17 points.

For Sharon (4-4, 7-6), Brittany Benedetto’s 8-point, 10-rebound, 3-steal line and Kaela Lampkins’ 13 points led the Lady Tigers.

ä Franklin 63, Grove City 36 — At Grove City, the visiting Lady Knights notched the Region 5-AAA rout, racing to a 31-18 margin at intermission, then coasting during the 2nd half.

Gravatt garnered 13 for Franklin while Deal deal a trio of treys for 11, a figure matched by Hager.

For Grove City (1-7, 3-13) Caitlin McNamara manufactured a game-high 18 markers, including 10-for-13 free-throw marksmanship; however, she was the Lady Eagles’ lone double-digit scorer.

ä Beaver Falls 65, Farrell 28 — At Beaver Falls on Wednesday, the WPIAL Section 6-AA Lady Tigers (8-8) led 16-2 after the opening frame and never looked back. Mineard (18), Pamer (11) and Boyd (11) led Beaver Falls. D’Asia Chambers fired in a game-high 22 points for the Steelerettes (1-13).

ä Brookfield 51, Champion 35 — At Champion on Wednesday, the visiting Lady Warriors won the All-American Conference Blue Tier contest. For Brookfield (1-2, 5-7) Kodi Brenner bucketed 13 points and Rachel Gentile garnered another 13. Heather Beechy tallied 13 for Champion.

City (3-5 in Region 5-AAA), while Mya Hidinger had a 13-for-14 free-throw shooting performance en route to another 17 points.

Haley Hanson led the scoring with 13 points, including 2 treys, while Kelsey Trosch added 12 points and Ashley Marriott 11. Trosch pulled down 12 rebounds and Marriott 6. Hanson and Lindsay Fulcher each had 3 steals. Ward paced the Lady Rockets with 12 points.

Trailing 64-61 after Mike Lemon’s traditional three-point play, Ethan Geisler sandwiched a 4 freebies around a Brian Giesler bucket in the final 66 ticks to lift Slippery Rock.

The Rockets were led by Geisler’s 22 points, 8 assists, 4 steals and 4 rebounds, while Giesler contributed 22 points, 4 steals and 3 assists. Ryan Gordon also reached double figures with 10.

ä VisionQuest 74, Greenville 51 — At Franklin, VisionQuest vanquished the Trojans with a trio of double-figure scorers including Harrison (16), Parker (12), Shaw (10) that led a 12-player rotation.

For Greenville (0-3, 4-10), Tyler Blaschak’s 18-point, 7-rebound outing and Cody Marshall’s 12 tallies were the highlights for the Region 2-AA Trojans, who trailed 40-20 by the break and could recover during the 2nd half.

ä Wilmington 64, Shenango 61 — At New Wilmington Wednesday, the host Hounds prevailed in the non-league Lawrence County contest. Shane Wagner went for a team-high 20 points for Wilmington (9-5), while Jake DeMedal and Ian Kelly contributed 13 and 11 points, respectively. For Shenango (6-10), Rich Gaston got a game-high 24 points.
