Shannon Linz signs her letter-of-intent to continue her education and volleyball career at Penn State Shenango.

SHARON – Penn State Shenango women’s volleyball Head Coach Nicole Nych announced the signing of Shenango High star Shannon Linz.

Linz, a 5-foot-7 setter, led the Lady Wildcats with 531 assists in the 2019 campaign and also earned 1st-Team Al- Section for her efforts as well as 2nd-Team All-District. At Shenango, Linz was coached by Angela Heagy as the team finished 16-2 on the season, losing 3-1 to Fox Chapel in the WPIAL 1A consolation match. In that match Linz recorded 29 assists and 6 service points.

“Shannon is a great athlete.” Nych praised, “She shows superb court awareness. Shannon is able to run a high quality, fast paced offense as a Setter. She displays a great personality and likes to take charge which is key for her position. Shannon will be a great fit for the Lady Lions.” 

Linz will major in human development at Penn State Shenango.
