GROVE CITY -- has selected Grove City College running back Wesley Schools as a member of its preseason All-America 3rd Team.

Schools enters the 2019 season as Grove City’s No. 2 all-time leading rusher (3,910 yards). In 2018, Schools ran for a Presidents’ Athletic Conference-best 1,741 yards and scored 20 TDs. He capped the season by rushing for a GCC-record 359 yards on 58 carries in a 56-48 victory over Morrisville State in the ECAC James Lynah Bowl at Robert E. Thorn Field. Schools earned All-South Region honors and 1st-Team All-PAC following the 2018 season as he ran for 1,266 yards and 12 TDs. He has 39 career TDs.

Grove City will open the season Sept. 7 against Juniata in Huntingdon, Pa. at noon in  the 125th season of GCC football.

• GREENVILLE –– The PAC released its women’s soccer preseason poll along and “Players to Watch. list,” and Thiel College defender Emma Polinski was named for the 3rd time in her career. She is coming off  All-PAC Honorable Mention honors in 2018.

Joining Polinski on the “Players to Watch” list for the 2nd time in a Tomcat uniform is forward Nicole Pereksta. In 2018, Pereksta scored 6 goals and handed out 2 assists (14 points), leading the team in both categories.

Thiel placed 7th in the preseason poll (24 points). Grove City College received 7 first-place votes (71 points) to grab the top spot in the poll.
