MONACA – The Penn State Shenango Lady Lions hit the road on Saturday and came home with a split in a tri-match at Penn State Beaver.

In the first match, Penn State Beaver defeated Shenango in three sets by scores of 25-21, 25-12 and 26-24. Despite the loss, Ashley Haylett came up big in the stat book with 16 kills and 10 assists. Donique Marcella (Farrell High) also aided with 7 digs along with Jenna Bornemiss with 23 assists.

Penn State Shenango rebounded in the 2nd match with a dominating win over CCBC, 3-0. Game scores were 25-11, 25-17, and 25-20.

Penn State Beaver improved their overall record to 13-6 (4-3 in the conference) while Penn State Shenango finished the day with an overall record of 8-10 (1-7 in the conference).

For the first time this season Penn State Shenango has the opportunity to play consecutive home matches this week as they host Point Park University on Monday and Penn State Fayette on Wednesday. Both matches will be played at the home of the Lady Lions, the Buhl Recreation Center. First serve in both matches is set for 7 p.m.
