• Hickory 2, Greenville 1 – Under the lights at Hornet Stadium, Paul Morelli and Brady Robison scored for Hickory (1-0, 3-1) in the win over the Trojans.

Colton Osborne had the lone goal for Greenville.

Julian Hudson picked up the win in goal for the Hornets.

• Sharon 2, Conneaut Area 0 – At Tiger Stadium, Ty Chartraw fired in a pair of unassisted goals to lead the Tigers (4-0) past CASH.

Nik Hunchuk posted the Sharon shutout. He made 8 saves. Conneaut Area’s Jay Thomas had 6 saves.

• Grove City 5, Sharpsville 0 – At Forker Field in Grove City, Zach Boarts fired in a goal 9 seconds into the match and the Eagles were off and running.

Boarts had 2 goals and Jacob Irani collected a hat trick.

GIRLS SOCCER

• Sharon 1, Wilmington 0 – At New Wilmington, Lady Tigers’ midfielder Julia Day scored in the 1st half to lift Sharon (2-1) past the Hounds. Mira Hardman assisted on the goal. 

Kate Krecek made 16 saves to earn the shutout in goal. Leah Gerstnecker had 4 saves for Wilmington (3-2).

• Kennedy Catholic 7, Sharpsville 0 – At South Py Twp., Addie Flanders scored 4 goals to lead KC (1-4) to its first win of the season.

Kennedy Catholic led 1-0 at halftime and fired in 6 goals in the 2nd half.

Bellah DiNardo posted 2 goals and 1 assist for KC, Sophia Lombardi, Dior Crumby and Reegan Patterson were credited with 1 assist each and Gianna Lepore made 11 saves in posting the shutout.

Region 2 Mega-Match

Grove City clinched its 2nd straight Region 2 championship on Thursday by winning at Oak Tree Country Club.

The Eagles posted a team score of 321. They were followed by Slippery Rock (333), Hickory (336), West Middlesex (369), Sharpsville (386), Sharon (394) and Wilmington (439).

Hickory’s Cameron Colbert was medalist after firing a 77.
