SHARON – Jaysina Sellers, a Sharon High standout, recently announced her commitment to the Penn State Shenago basketball program.

Sellers finished the 2020-21 campaign 5th in District 10 in scoring (16 points per game) and ended 8th in school history with 1,035 career points. She also took 1st-Team All-Region honors her junior season. Jaysina was also awarded MVP honors in the Rick Fragel Tip-off Tournament in her junior season, also.

The 5-foot-6 Sellers served Sharon as a combo-guard, and Lady Tigers’ taskmaster Kellie O’Brien said of Sellers’ prep career, “Jaysina is a fierce competitor whose speed and basketball skills will enable her to jump right in to help her team both on offense and defense. I look forward to seeing her play at the next level as she will push herself and continue to mature as a player and as a team leader.”

Lions’ Head Coach Daniel Johnson was equally as enthusiastic, noting, “Jaysina is a prolific scorer – and fast. I believe in our four-guard system with shooters around her, she will flourish in all facets on offense and her defense will allow us to pressure even more.”

Jaysina plans to pursue a major in physical therapy.
