William ‘Bill’ Forest Mosley

William “Bill” Forest Mosley, 960 Baldwin Ave., Sharon, passed away on Monday afternoon, June 19, 2006, in Beaver (Pa.) Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was 68.

Mr. Mosley was born Dec. 15, 1937, in Cleveland to William B. and Thelma B. Askerneese Mosley.

A 1955 alumnus of Sharon High School, he retired in 1992 from the former Sharon Steel Corp.’s Farrell plant, where he worked in the masonry department as a bricklayer for 37 years.

He was a member of Local 1197 of United Steelworkers.

An Army veteran, Bill served from Jan. 16, 1961, to Jan. 15, 1967, having achieved a rank of sergeant with the final two years of his tour of duty in the Army Reserves.

As a lifetime member of Cedar Avenue Church of God in Sharon, he served actively and honorably for many years in various capacities and leadership positions including former church treasurer, former elder, the Sunday school as an adult class teacher, the finance committee, and as an integral element in the church security staff. Bill belonged to the church prayer and Bible study group, usher board, men’s morning prayer group and men’s organization.

He leaves: his brother, Herbert Dean Mosley and his wife Betty, Farrell; three sisters, Mary Elizabeth Mosley Holder and her husband Lonnie, Cleveland; Mrs. Artis L. (Luticia Mosley) Clemmons, Fort Worth, Texas; and Etha Mosley Price, Sharon; and his nieces and nephews, Cheryl Denise Jones, Artis L. Clemmons Jr., Toni Mosley Price, Michele R. Clemmons, Steven D. Mosley, Mrs. Luther (Laurie Mosley) Phillips, Teresa M. Clemmons, Alonza Askerneese Price, Carla Denise Clemmons and Vickie L. Mosley.

Also surviving are: his grandnieces and -nephews, Christiann N. Clemmons, Jermaine L. Price, Ashley L. Samuels, Jazhmine Phillips, Tonya Price, Xavier Mosley, Trenton Mosley, Malcolm Fisher, Channing Phillips and Erica Mosley; and a host of cousins and other relatives.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Pearl Delores Mosley Jones, who passed away Feb. 13, 1968; and a brother-in-law, Artis L. Clemmons.

Calling hours: 9 a.m. to time of service Saturday (6-24-06) in Cedar Avenue Church of God, 1045 Cedar Ave., Sharon.

Service: Funeral service at 10 a.m. Saturday in the church, with the Rev. Charles W. Johnson Jr., pastor, officiating.

Interment: Oakwood Cemetery, Hermitage.
